Potential members are encouraged to attend trial sessions to see whether joining Tonbridge Athletic Club is appropriate for them, and help identify which particular track or field events would be of interest.
Please do NOT come to the Club without first making a trial membership enquiry and then waiting for an invite from our Trials Co-ordinator. You will NOT be able to join in until you have been registered with the Trials Co-ordinator and have received a time and date for a trial session.
The Club is run entirely by volunteers, and due to the high number of people interested in joining we have temporarily closed some of our groups to new members to ensure that we maintain the required coach/athlete ratio.
We are, however, asking people to register their interest to be put on a waiting list. Those who have registered will be contacted as places become available. People will be contacted for their trial session in date order, so the sooner you register the sooner you will be contacted.
Trials are for any athlete aged 9 years or above, if younger than this please visit the Tornados page.
The trials are to determine whether any potential member has the right approach to athletics. Members will be expected to try their hardest, engage with and attend training, represent the Club in competition and show manners and respect to coaches and other members – the coach has the final say.
The cost is £145, which comprises a one-off joining fee of £50, a Club vest, £15 England Registration Fee and £80 2018/2019 TAC membership subscriptions. The membership year runs from April to March, subscriptions are not reduced should you join part way through the year. TAC does not want financial hardship to deter athletes, so if the cost is an issue please contact the Membership Secretary in confidence.
To apply for a trial please go to the Club's Membership Portal and click on New Members.
