It was good to see a number of Masters' athletes taking the opportunity to put themselves under competition pressure on Tuesday evening. Another strong performance by the men to win by a decent margin, with Dartford finishing 4th to leave us 2.5 points clear of Bexley at the top. Maria Heslop W50, Tina Oldershaw W50 and Andy Howey M55 (TAC Coach and 2nd Claim) were all selected to run for an England Masters team against a Celtic nations team at the Great Birmingham 10k.

This is always one of the best attended races of the Masters’ calendar and this year the race had been moved from Mid May to late April to avoid clashing with the European Masters’ non-stadia event in Spain, but overall team entries were down by only 15. Click here to read a report from the event
Maria Heslop again led the way as she was first W50 lady in the London Marathon in a time of 2:56.56. She was 18th non-elite woman and 8 minutes ahead of the next W50, she was also second vet overall with only one W40 ahead of her. This is a TAC women’s record and a PB by 1 second! Records were broken by TAC athletes at the Paddock Wood Half Marathon and in the Easter Open Meeting, whilst Maria Heslop ran the 3rd fastest time by a British W50 ever in Folkestone. Others competed in the Knole 10K at the weekend where Tina Oldershaw won the Ladies race. Click here to read the update

Sue has enjoyed competing in European and World Masters Championships and always supports the British Masters Championships at track, road and XC events. Three athletes took part in the BMAF Indoor champs at Lee Valley on Sunday, two of whom left with Gold Medals as British Age group champions. We also had a good number of Masters athletes running in the National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill. Click here to read the update
Medals for Sally Vine and Diane Wright at the SCVAC Indoor champs at Lee Valley, plus a number of TAC vets contributed to the 3 to score team wins at the Tunbridge Wells Half marathon and Kent GP team wins for 6 to score. Click here to read the update
The final Kent League XC race of the season took part last Saturday. Antony Bennett and Simon Fraser helped TAC to win the 12 to score title. Maria Heslop secured the overall title with her 4th place, while also collecting the W45 title and leading veterans title. Click here to read the update
Alan is one of the latest recruits to the TAC Masters team having transferred from Paddock Wood AC in September 2017. As well as being a keen M60 competitor, Alan is a qualified Coach and will be supporting the developing Masters section.

Maria Heslop led the Tonbridge W50 trio, with Tina Oldershaw and Lucy Pitcairn-Knowles to Women's team 2nd place. Maria broke the TAC W50 record finishing in 36:38. There were other great performances at the Ashford and District 10K and The Bedgebury Forest 5 Mile. Click here for the latest update

A good number of TAC athletes competed in the first race of the Kent Road running Grand Prix at Canterbury. Tina Oldershaw was 2nd lady overall and first W45-54, Julian Rendall was first M40-49 and 2nd scorer for the winning TAC senior men's team, and Graeme Saker was 2nd in the M50-59. We had an amazing 23 Vets athletes taking part at the Kent County Championships . I think the standout results are first place in the M50 and W50 for Ben Reynolds and Maria Heslop. Tina Oldershaw won the Staplehurst 10 Mile race on New Year's Eve, whilst on New Year's Day Julian Rendall M40 was 2nd and Antonia Skerritt was first Lady home. In the Lamberhurst 10K and 5K Sasha Houghton won the Ladies race, with the Men gaining the team win. Click here for the latest update
A large contingent of TAC Vets travelled to the SEAA Masters XC championships at Horspath, Oxfordshire. The course was a mix of frosted hard ground and some mud, with a mix of flat fields, sharp hills and woodland paths.

The Kent Masters XC Championships returned to the intricate Central Park course at Dartford on Saturday 2 December, with improved results for TAC Masters with news from the Crowborough 10k plus an update on the South of England Vets XC Championships Saturday 9th December at Horspath. The Ladies Vets were critical to the team score in both the 3 and 6 to score Senior Ladies team that was 3rd in both categories at Danson Park. Ben Reynolds and Graeme Saker M55 were in action in Derry having been selected for the British and Ireland Home International last weekend. Ben won the M50 and over race by 8 seconds from his fellow English team mates and Graeme was part of the 3 man AG winning English team. Click here for the update

Saturday saw the start of the 2017/18 Kent XC league. There were 24 TAC vets taking part, with debuts for Richard Tosh, Ross Kinloch, Lisa Knight and Susie Jeddo. Julian Rendall (M40) battled with Dan Bradley before making his move at about 4.5 miles to win the race. Maria Heslop dominated the Ladies race as she won by over 3 minutes from former TAC runner Nicola Wilkinson.

Ben Reynolds and Dan Madams took part in the VAC 10,000m track championships winning their respective age groups whilst Phil Coleman won Gold at the Kent Vets Track Championships in Erith. Julian Rendall followed his strong showing on the track at the finals the week before (1500m and 3K) as he showed his adaptability to be second at Eridge and first M40 over what I believe is a true cross country course.

The 20th European Masters Athletics Championships Stadia were held in Aarhus, Denmark from 27th July to 6th August, 2017. Alan Newman and Sue James will join the Club next month and their results and also results from Ben Reynolds are included together with a fixtures update. Click here for the update
There was definitely a relaxed feel to the TAC team on Monday night in the final fixture at Medway having qualified for the finals. One of the highlights of the evening was to see 9 TAC runners in the non-scoring Mens 800m race.

So, the ladies are definitely going to Ashford South East finals day after a brilliant team win on Friday night, it just shows what hard work was going on in the field events! We are now 8 points clear of 3rd placed Cambridge with a maximum of 6 available at Medway. Click here for the update
Another great result where our strength in depth and adaptability shone through to achieve 2nd place in both the women’s and men’s divisions. Apart from some winning performances on the night there were some crucial points gained throughout the Mens and Women’s teams. Click here for the report
A good team effort to take 1st Team at Staplehurst with Dan Bradley out in front - Tony paced the race best as he was 4th of this group at 5Km, before moving through during the second half of the race to finish 2nd TAC and with a PB of 38.38. It was great to see such a good atmosphere on Friday night at the Vets league and the athletes clearly benefitted from the support as results on the track, where vocal encouragement was much in evidence, were consistently good

We had by far and away our most successful day at the British Masters Road relay championships, held in Sutton Coldfield. We had 5 teams in 4 age categories and despite the weather it proved to be an enjoyable day for teams and supporters. Click here for the report and links to the Videos
The Men were second on the night and are now second overall. The ladies trumped this with a first win in Division 1 for TAC, this also puts them second overall in what looks like being a very tight top three. A good many records were broken on the night too. Click here for the full report
Graeme Saker ran 10:01.21 at Watford to record a M55 club record which puts him fourth in the Overall National rankings for 2017, and first in the Outdoor rankings for M55. Other records for Anne Brenchley in the Bedgebury Parkrun and Discus for Mark Davies. Click here a short update
It was great to see both the Men and Women perform so well to be 2nd equal and 3rd respectively on the night, and a fantastic turn out of TAC runners of all ages at Hildenborough on Monday. An update from the TAC open is also included.

In the Kent Champs Sasha Houghton had one of her best Cross Country races and helped secure the 3 to score Silver medal for TAC whilst in the Mens event TAC won the 6 and 12 to score.
